Not the typical “Goals” post

January 21, 2011

As we reflect on the end of the year and welcome the new, the excitement of a new beginning is in the air. Resolutions, weight loss goals and a quest to squash bad habits are in effect. Personally, I remember writing down long lists of things that I wanted to change about myself and my actions. Just shy of 24, the last 6 months have been a true test of the “coming of age” stage of my life. Working for two nonprofits in regards to enhancing their social media profile and communication goals, I’ve found that setting goals and planning works best for keeping my life in schedule.

Top three things I am working on:

1. Define and continuing to build my brand.

2. Work towards making an impact in my local community (volunteer, speaking engagements, etc.)

3. Establishing a presence and creating a voice in the world

I’m working steadily towards these goals. Of course, I’ll keep my blog updated.

So, what goals have you set for 2011?

I’m 100% with you on #2, working towards making a bigger impact. I really want to start getting more experiences like public speaking as well.
