Me Time: Gym
Anyone looking to gain a sense of balance knows that stress relief is important. Most recently for me, the gym has been my release.
As myself and fellow blogger/consultant/fundraiser extraordinaire Tamar Cloyd prepare for the reactivation of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Baltimore and the other responsibilities I have on my plate before the new year, I am always seeking balance. Usually I cringe at the thought of hitting the treadmill and conquering the elliptical (anyone have any tips?), but recently I’ve started to take advantage of the classes.
Brick Bodies is the gym I attend in the Baltimore Area. They have 7 clubs in the area with two women only locations in Owings Mills and Belvedere Square.
What I love about my location (Belvedere Square) and the Bricks Company in general, is the family environment I walk into every time I go there. There are childcare services, mints at the front desk and lotion in the locker room for days when you need it.
I’ve had my experiences at the big box gyms and nothing can compare to the TOP NOTCH service I receive here. It really feels like family. One of my favorite classes of the moment is Body Pump. It gives me a break from my Monday night Body Jam class with Toni (who’s awesome!) and allows me to really focus on my main muscle groups without feeling like I’m going to pass out any second.
Besides those two classes, there are over 30+ classes offered at the clubs in the Area. They even have Guest passes for people who want to try before making that step. Right now, they are offering a great special for $25 to join. It’s worth every penny!
